i-CAC / Index review and updates

Reviewing & updating your i-CAC index

The i-CAC index reflects a painter’s activity and reputation at a given moment. But an artist’s career moves on, so i-CAC allows the index to be reviewed at any time, on request, throughout the certification period. Reviews are free of charge, but each request must state its grounds and be backed by evidence.

Who can request a review?

Any i-CAC certified artist can request an update to their price index. Simply open your personal profile on the i-CAC platform and click the dedicated button in the “Index review” section.

When should you request a review?

You can apply as soon as you feel your market has grown significantly: new exhibitions, rising prices, wider recognition and so on. There is no limit on how often you apply, but every request must be supported by evidence.

Supporting documents

  • Invoices for artwork sales (direct or through a gallery)
  • New exhibitions or collaborations with galleries
  • Recent distinctions (prizes, grants, honourable mentions)
  • Articles or features in the specialist art press
  • Price trends on online art sales platforms
  • Auction results listed on ARTPRICE or an equivalent database

i-CAC reserves the right to request any additional documents needed to confirm the progress reported.

Assessment by our experts

Once the evidence has been received, i-CAC experts reassess the artist’s position by analysing the real impact of these new developments on their standing in the art market. The higher the starting index, the stricter the requirements for justifying an increase.

A transparent process that evolves with you

The purpose of the review is to ensure that the index always reflects the artist’s current standing. This flexibility means active artists can see their progress recognised and reflected in their price rating, without waiting for their certification period to expire.

An i-CAC index review is a powerful way to showcase your professional development to collectors, galleries and institutions.
